About National Salvage & Service
National Salvage & Service Corporation is a dismantling/demolition company that specializes in asset recovery and environmental restoration. Most projects begin with the demolition of structures ranging from power plants to industrial facilities to railroad tracks and bridges and end when the sites have been restored and salvaged materials have been sold for re-purposing.

We value employees who are honest, diligent, flexible, hard-working and adept at digging into the root of a problem to find a lasting solution. Many positions are intensive and require travel and temporary living.

National offers internships to qualified students pursuing a degree and professionals seeking career development. Internships are available in the Demolition Division, Railroad Division, at the Corporate Office, and at each Satellite Office.

Skid Steer
Very common in our tie grinding yards and for
bundlers in the field.
Relatively small and inexpensive skid steers are
perfect for handling heavy ties.
Not recommended for moving rail.
Boom Truck
Boom Truck
Our main piece of equipment
Used in both the Rail and Tie sides
Usually takes two to operate, some have remote
control
Unlike specialized track equipment a boom
truck is highly mobile and street legal!
When following a cut truck the boom truck
snaps the rail at the notches cut then loads rail
onto a rail cart. When full the truck has to
back-track to a storage area. Rail will eventually
be loaded onto a semi trailer sent by dispatch
Common attachments:
Grapple. Can pick up railroad ties and rail.
Magnet.
