Since 2012, we’ve been bringing downtown vibes and standout shareables to our guests. We believe that you shouldn’t have to commute for quality. At State & Main, we work hard to ensure our menu has as many house-made items as possible. That’s what we do—familiar favourites done better. Our top priority is offering our guests a great experience, whether they’re coming in for a simple wine night or a special occasion.

We are happy to train and don’t require years of hospitality experience to work with us. State & Main is a place with people who care about their community, friends, teammates and guests alike. In 2012, the Franworks Group in Calgary, Alberta developed and launched State & Main. After a lot of hard work, we have over 25 restaurants across Canada and are setting our sights on expansion. We currently have roughly 1100 employees across our restaurants, but we’re always looking to grow our team.
Our goal is to double our restaurants in the next three to five years so that more small towns and suburbs can have a premium casual dining option. Through this expansion, we’ll be able to create thousands of jobs and ensure our guests don’t have to commute for quality.

One of the State values is supporting the communities we’re in. For example, during Mother’s Day in 2022, we ran a “For Mom, For Women” campaign across 23 cities in Canada. We focused on women-supporting non-profits in these communities. Every location donated $10 from every Mother’s Day reservation from May 6th to 8th, raising $25,000 for these local charities.
We also encourage our individual restaurants to run community and charity efforts. Many do! Our Guelph location ran a Community Pint Program where they donated 50 cents from each pint of Sleeman to respective local United Way agencies. Multiple Ontario locations joined their efforts.
